On 7 March 2024 in Dhaka in the presence of H.E. Antonio Alessandro Ambassador of Italy to Bangladesh, the first monitoring meeting of the “Bangla Dream” project took place. The project is run by Format and was authorized in February 2024 by the inter-ministerial commission pursuant to law 50/2023 chaired by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies. It aims at providing pre-departure training to a pilot number of Bangladeshi workers to be employed by Italian textile and mechanic companies.
Format is accredited by the University of Foreigners of Siena as a certification center for Italian L2 language. In this capacity, on 8 March 2024 at the Greenland Training Center in Dhaka, the first CILS Italian L2 exams were held for Bangladeshi workers who had successfully followed the A1 level courses provided by the Italbangla Language Institute.
The inaugural session of the Dhaka training and exam center was attended, among others, by the president of Format, Dr. Antonio Vecchio, the president of Italbangla Shah Mohammed Taifur, the representative of Work agency Dr. Michele Peloggio, and the Italian Ambassador Antonio Alessandro.
